Special education, individual and family therapy, skill development, adoption and placement, full life span services, employment, sheltered workshops, residential services, adult day programs, respite, early childhood therapy, ICF/MR, recreational, early intervention, parent training, and parent and sibling support.

Disabilities Served:

Severe trauma, emotional, behavioral, and communication disorders, Autism, developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injury, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, Spinal Bifida, and physical disabilities.

Accomplishments

Brought together service agencies in the area to discuss key issues that affect the population we serve.

Increased awareness of our services in the Greater Saint Louis Area.

Provided a united forum to meet with funding agencies and discuss key issues that affect service delivery and impact the lives of those we serve.

Common focus for all providers to increase services to individuals with Development Disabilities

Dialogue has been opened to create partnership and change with funding agencies to enhance the quality of services funded and provided.

Providing a forum for providers to discuss legislative and other common issues.

Provide momentum and encouragement for providers through the support of others.

Legislative Priorities

To ensure the current service delivery system stays in tact while developing fiscally responsible legislation.
Funding

To Oppose Medicaid cuts that would threaten long-term or community based services for people with Developmental Disabilities. Stabilize community supports through sufficient funding of long term providers.

Residential

Advance Iniatives that result in less state-operated DD functions, eliminate systemic redundancies and costly inefficiencies.

Employment

Provide increased incentives to employers who will provide jobs to people with developmental disabilities.

Communication

To increase contact and strengthen our relationships with area legislators to keep them informed on key issues that affect people with DD.
